Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair and Debris
If you have pets, a robot vacuum that can pick up pet hair and debris on all floor types is a must. Look for features such as reactive obstacle avoidance as well as app control and scheduled cleanings.
Fur is shed by dogs and cats and can be spread over hard floors or embedded into carpets. This is difficult for a robot to pick up.
1. Neato D9
The Neato D9 is one of the most modern robot cleaners on the market. It has an onboard camera that maps the space and then vacuums up and down in a rational way until it has thoroughly cleaned your floor. It is easy to clean hard to reach areas such as under furniture or above stairs. It also does a fantastic job of removing pet hair and dust.
The D9 is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner that can clean up 1,600 square feet at one charge. This makes it perfect for medium-sized houses. It comes with a premium brushed-black finish that will look great in any home. The D9 isn’t as powerful as the other robotic vacuums we tested, but it can still collect a decent amount of dirt and other debris. Its multi-surface brush, which is shaped like a helix, is 70% bigger than the ones found on the majority of round robotic vacuums. This makes it more effective in picking up crumbs and other dirt.
Another aspect that makes the D9 apart from other robot vacuums is its SmartLiDAR navigation system. It utilizes the same technology that is used by self-driving cars to map out and navigate your home. This enables the D9 to clean more efficiently than robots with cameras because it can see more of your home and avoid obstacles in low light.
If you don't want the D9 to take certain areas of your home off its cleaning list You can draw virtual boundaries on a map using the app. The D9 will either avoid these areas or vacuum more often. It can also detect and remove pet messes and stains on bare floors.
The D9 can also clean your grout, which is useful for those who have a tile or vinyl flooring in your home. It's not as effective as other robot vacuums when it comes to getting rid of pet hair from carpeted floors but it still does a great job.
The D9 was able to remain in the same location while it was cleaning for over three hours, which is much better than any other robot vacuum I've ever tested. It did return to its charging base when the battery level reached 15%.
2. Eufy RoboVac ElevenS
The Eufy RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum is a great option for those on a budget and need to keep your floors clean. It's also one of the most affordable robot vacuums on the market currently, much less than the older Eufy models or some machines from lesser known brands. The 11S is small, attractive, user-friendly and has a decent dust compartment.
It has the same basic design as the eufy 30C that we looked at last year, but it's tinier and has more suction power (2 kPa against 1.7). Unlike the more expensive Roomba models, the 11S doesn't have a built-in robot mop, or advanced navigation capabilities. It relies on a smartphone app as well as a remote control that allows you to manually control it.
The 11S can be programmed to clean specific rooms or the entire house. best robot vacuum and mop combo for pet hair comes with the option of spot cleaning which lets you choose one specific zone for two minutes of intensive vacuuming. Edge cleaning is a helpful feature that lets you focus on the edges in your home.
The 11S is simple to maintain: it has an enormous dirt compartment that doesn't require frequent emptying and the battery's life is good. The 11S is prone to fall from its charging dock when it's fully charged. It is necessary to secure the dock's cables by using zip tie. The absence of a 'dust box full' indicator means that you'll have to check the dust bin on a regular basis, but it doesn't take very long.
Comparatively to the eufy 30-C, the 11S is better-built, incurs lower costs for recurring repairs and has a larger dirt compartment, and can clear more debris from everything from plain floors to carpets with low pile. It is also easier to maintain, and performs better, especially when cleaning carpets. Its BoostIQ function is able to automatically switch between Standard and Max power settings depending on the surface you're cleaning. Anti-collision sensors keep the 11S from hitting furniture, and it will automatically return to its base when the battery is low. In our tests, it took around an hour to fully charge and it has a long time of operation.
3. iRobot Roomba j7+
iRobot's j7 series is the company's smartest mop and robot vacuum combo. PrecisionVision navigation allows it to navigate around obstacles and avoid blind spots, where other robotic vacuums can get stuck. It also analyzes your home's layout and uses it to improve its cleaning performance over time. It is controlled by the iRobot App and integrates with Alexa or Google Assistant.
We tested the J7+ Combo through its trials on our obstacle course and found that it was one of the most capable robotic cleaners for both low-pile and bare floors. Its maneuverability is excellent and it cleans in a well-organized pattern and then returns to its docking station when completed. Its hazard detection feature is effective at avoiding objects like cords but it can also be caught in rug tassels and be unable to climb over carpets with high piles.
The iRobot j7+ has a self emptying dust bin that dumps its contents into the charging dock when it is full. This means that there is less necessity for manual maintenance. The j7+'s mopping capabilities are also well-rounded, taking up pet hair and spills that occur on hard and soft surfaces. The dual rubber brush bars are pliable and are able to handle the majority of sticky mess. They also prevent getting tangled in hair, whether it is human or animal.

The iRobot J7+ is a quiet machine it registers just 64 decibels on our decibel scale while it cleans. The j7+ vacuums quietly with a decibel level of just 64 decibels. This is comparable to the level of noise in normal conversations, and is much lower than what we've heard from other robots.
The j7+ isn't necessarily the best choice for bare floors and low-pile fabrics, but it's still an excellent choice for the majority of homes. Its ability for avoiding pet waste and other obstructions makes it an excellent choice for those with cats or dogs.
4. Deebot X2 Omni
Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is an all-in-one robot vacuum and mop, with an elegant low profile, powerful cleaning power, and intelligent navigation. It is the first robot mop and vacuum that has dual-laser LiDAR technology integrated into the body. This will allow for faster mapping and more precise cleaning. The X2 comes with AIVI 3D 2.0 and TrueMapping 3.0 and advanced dynamic obstacle avoidance. This is a complete solution for cleaning your home on all floors. The X2 also features pet-friendly AI that recognizes and tracks pets in the household, allowing it to tailor its cleaning program to meet your specific household needs.
The X2's unique square-shaped design and integrated edge detection sensors allows it to get close up to corners and walls. It can clean both tiles and hardwood floors at the same time. But unlike other robots that automatically clean their rotating pads using hot water, the X2's rotating pad is submerged in 131 degrees F water. It then allows drying of the pads between uses, extending the life of the pads.
The X2 is controlled by a mobile app, which allows you to schedule and plan cleaning sessions. The app is easy to use and intuitive, though it does lack certain advanced features that are found in some of its competitors. For example, while the X2 is able to clean in a grid pattern, our test results showed that it often cleaned in more random patterns and often did not remove a pile of dust or dirt that was visible.
The X2 is simple to keep track of and will return to its base to empty the dustbin into a reusable dust bag and to clean and dry the mop pad at the docking station. It's also capable of recognising its charging station and going back to it to charge, enabling you to keep your home topped with new cleaning power for weeks at a time. Its only real problem is the size of the battery, which can be a challenge to find a suitable place to charge it.
